Mr. Pieroni is President & CEO of the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD), the global standards-setting body for the insurance industry. ACORD standards, assets, and solutions facilitate information exchange and transactions across insurance stakeholders worldwide. ACORD's 36,000 members include (re)insurers, agents and brokers, financial services organizations, solution providers, and industry associations. These members and ACORD assets underpin over 90% of global premiums. ACORD maintains offices in New York and London with professionals and members spanning over 100 countries.
William's career includes senior roles at major brokers, insurers, technology, and consulting firms. Prior to his appointment as ACORD's CEO, William served as the Chief Operating Officer of Marsh, responsible for the firm's worldwide operations. Prior to that he served as Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chairman at State Farm.
William's extensive financial services background includes tenure as General Manager of IBM's insurance business, partner at Accenture, and consultant with McKinsey & Company. William earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting with University Honors & Distinction from the University of Illinois. He also received his M.B.A. with Highest Distinction from Harvard University School of Business Administration, where he was named a Baker Scholar.
