Ali Heron is the Managing Director of Digital Transformation at GrowthCurve Capital. With over 22 years of experience, Ali has successfully grown and scaled diverse technology teams to deliver innovative high-quality products across various sectors, including FinTech, Media Streaming, and startups.
In her most recent role as CTO at Petal and Prism Data, Ali led the product, design, engineering, security, and analytics teams. Under her leadership, the team doubled in size and achieved significant product and revenue growth. She also incubated and launched Prism Data to bring the power of cash flow-based underwriting to businesses. Prior to Petal, Ali spent 5 years at Two Sigma Investments as SVP Engineering, where she focused on modernizing the security, services, data, communication, and collaboration aspects of their platform.
Throughout her career, Ali has been an entrepreneur, consultant, and spent the first 10 years at Microsoft, where she gained valuable experience in scaling and building products from scratch. She worked on well-known products such as MSN Messenger, Xbox, and the infamous KIN phone.
Ali holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Master's of Business Administration from TRIUM (NYU, LSE, HEC). She is also the holder of 16 patents. Currently, Ali serves as an executive-in-residence at NYU Stern and has previously worked as an adjunct professor and entrepreneur in residence at NYU Tandon, collaborating with computer science students to bring their ideas to life.
